Lean and Green

Last week we showed 8 people from local manufacturing companies around our factory.  Jamie Swan, our Production Manager, took them through our four year journey implementing Lean Manufacturing techniques.  He explained how we use the 5s system, Cell Manufacturing, Kanban Production, Waste Reduction and Visual Management techniques to improve manufacturing efficiency.

Complimenting this perfectly is our work maintaining our ISO14001 accreditation (Environmental Management) Waste reduction and cost reduction seem to go hand in hand.

Following the tour and presentation, Paul Burns, Compliance Manager from Jenx Ltd commented, ‘The factory was a good example of a lean environment’.
