Training Day launched by IPIA Members
Three members of the Independent Printers Industry Association (IPIA) have joined together to provide a free Training Day to develop delegates knowledge on how to select and order a range of printed plastic products by increasing their understanding of the manufacturing process and giving them a series of tips and insights on how to get the best results.
The Training Day is being hosted by Commercial Facilities and Logistics Ltd. (CFL) based in Abingdon, who supply clients with a wide range of printing products and services. Supported by ProSkills UK - the Sector Skills Council for the Process and Manufacturing Sector, the Training will be delivered by Duraweld, one of the UK’s leading producers of customised presentation, packaging and printed stationery products.
With a maximum of 25 places, the training is being offered to CFL’s key account customers and any others who feel they would benefit from learning more about this topic. It will be based around Durawelds’ new ‘Stationery Sage’ concept, which is the company’s virtual ‘spokesperson’ for offering helpful, friendly advice to its customers, and will look particularly at plastic products such as tax disc holders, ring binders and boxes. The training will comprise four workshops as follows:
- Back to Basics – an introduction to products and materials
- Perfect Performance – understanding requirements and getting the right product for the job
- Plastic Fantastic – how to get amazing results using a mix of knowledge and creativity
- Living the Dream – practical advice and a demonstration of easy to use, online tools
The day finishes with the delegates getting hands on by developing a brief of their own and presenting it to the rest of the group.
The idea for the Training Day evolved from a conversation between Durawelds’ CEO Hannah Senior and CFL’s owner Glyn Hall at the IPIA Conference in June. Hannah offered to provide training for Glyn, who seized the opportunity and suggested Hannah open up the offer to some of his high level accounts, which will help them develop their knowledge of the manufacturing process; particularly the printing of plastic products such as tax disc holders, ring binders and boxes.
Glyn said: “I would thoroughly recommend anyone whose job involves buying quality plastic products of this type to attend this Training Day. It will provide essential knowledge not only about how these products are made, but how you can make the most of them and really impress your clients.”
Hannah Senior, CEO of Duraweld commented: “We are delighted to be working with CFL and ProSkills on this project and showing people just how, with a little bit of extra knowledge, they can create great products which really raise the bar. It is also an ideal platform for our ‘Stationery Sage’ to continue in his quest to help customers get the best out of our service and give them hints and tips to save them time and money.“
This free event will be taking place at CFL’s premised in Abingdon, Oxon on Friday 23 September from 10 am to 4 pm. To book a place simply email Glyn Hall on ghall@cfl-ltd.co.uk. Places will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis. The event is open to print management companies, members of the IPIA and customers of CFL.
